Hello, I’m Ellen, a freelance prop maker and craftsperson based in south-east England.
I graduated with distinction from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2015. My diploma was in Technical Theatre and Stage Management and I specialised in prop making.
I have been a contracted member of the props team at Glyndebourne since the 2016 festival season. This included assisting with the transition into our new Production Hub.
I also do commissions alongside my contracted work, and have created pieces for, among others, The National Theatre, the BBC and AAA Theatre.
While I specialise in carpentry, I am experienced in working with the large variety of materials and techniques required by demanding production environments.
I have a First Class honours degree in Drama and Theatre Studies from Royal Holloway, University of London, from which I graduated in 2011. I am also an illustrator and trained picture framer, and have previously worked as an actor in both professional and amateur theatre.
